About

Support, insight, and growth.

As a retired United States Marine and clinical therapist, I understand that reaching out for support can be one of the most challenging steps a person can take. My goal is to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to create meaningful change in their lives. I am a mother of two daughters, originally from Florida, and have called North Carolina home since 1998. I value service, lifelong growth, physical wellness, and meaningful connections with others, and I am passionate about helping people navigate life's challenges while building on their strengths. I served 12 years in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Maintenance Administration Specialist (MOS 6046). Throughout my military career, I served in several leadership and helping capacities, including Equal Opportunity Representative, Victim Advocate, Substance Abuse Educator, and Marine Corps Recruiter. These experiences strengthened my commitment to advocacy, inclusion, education, resilience, and supporting individuals through difficult life circumstances. I am dual-licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A). Since 2012, I have worked with military and civilian families in child welfare, mental health, and substance use treatment settings. My professional experience includes supporting individuals and families through life transitions, behavioral challenges, family conflict, substance use concerns, and emotional difficulties. My work as a victim advocate further strengthened my commitment to supporting those impacted by trauma, domestic violence, and other significant life stressors. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I graduated as a Child Welfare Scholar, and later earned my Master of Social Work from the University of New England. My professional training includes child welfare, family systems, clinical assessment, substance use treatment, cultural competency, and trauma-informed care. Having served in the military and worked extensively with military and civilian families, I understand the unique challenges associated with military service, family transitions, recovery, parenting, and major life changes. My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and person-centered. I strive to meet clients where they are, helping them identify their strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful and lasting change. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, family conflict, relationship challenges, life transitions, or recovery goals, I am committed to supporting your journey toward healing, growth, resilience, and overall well-being. Walker Therapy & Consulting PLLC is currently accepting new clients for telehealth and office-based services. Insurance participation is currently being updated. Please contact the practice to verify current insurance acceptance and benefits. Clients are responsible for applicable copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, and non-covered services. I look forward to supporting you on your path toward meaningful and lasting change.
